What is different about Cocoon Kids counselling and therapy? ​

Our 1:1 Creative Counselling and Play Therapy sessions are effective, personalised, and developmentally appropiate for children and young people aged 3-19 years.

We also offer sessions at a range of flexible times that meet the needs of individual families.

Our therapeutic sessions for children and young people are 1:1 and available:

daytime, evening and weekends

term-time and out of term-time, during school holidays and breaks

Developmentally appropriate​ therapy

We know that children and young people are unique and have diverse experiences.

This is why we tailor our therapeutic service to the needs of the individual:

Cocoon Kids supports children and young people and their families with a wide range of emotional, wellbeing and mental health therapeutic goals and needs.

 

  • Child and young person-led therapeutic goal setting

  • Child and young person-friendly assessments and outcome measures used, as well as of formal standardised measures

  • Regular reviews to support child or young person's movement towards personal mastery

  • Child or young person's voice essential in their therapy, and they are involved in their reviews

Effective Counselling and Therapy

 

At Cocoon Kids, we receive in-depth training in infant, child and adolescent development and mental health as well as the theories and skills needed to be an effective child--centred therapist.

 

As BAPT and MBACP members, we regularly update our skill-base and knowledge through high quality Continued Professional Development (CPD) and clinical supervision, to ensure that we continue to provide a high quality therapeutic service for the children and young people, and their families.
